But as I understand your concern, you would like to make a Non Inventory Item similar to a Kit/ Package which has different components.
Changing one item type to another (in this case is Non-Inventory to Kit/Package) is not yet supported in NetSuite. This is logged under Enhancement # 88100 Items > Ability to change Item Type (except non-inventory->inventory, which is now supported)
Perhaps what you can do is to create a Kit/Package item for your main item and non-inventory items for the components of your kit since a Kit/Package can include a Non-Inventory item as its member.
