Creating a Sub customer

Scenario: The user needs to create a sub customer for a customer.

Solution:
To create a sub customer record:

1. Go to Lists > Relationships > Customers.
2. Select the customer for which we need to make the sub customer.
3. Under Sub customers tab under the relationship subtab, select New Sub customer.

The sub customer record is the same as a customer record except that

• In the Company Name or Name fields, enter the name of your new sub customer.
• The Parent Company field automatically displays the name of the customer from which you created the sub customer record.
• In the Status field, select the appropriate status.
• If this sub customer is associated with a different subsidiary than the parent customer, select the appropriate Subsidiary.
• Complete the subtabs as appropriate.
• When you create a sub customer record, the customer contacts are not copied to the new sub customer record.
• Click Save.
  

Note: The credit limit you set for a customer does not include any of the customer’s sub customers. The customer may reach its credit limit, but you can continue to create sales transactions for its sub customers without restrictions. Also, while using a NetSuite OneWorld if this sub customer is associated with a different subsidiary than the parent customer, select the appropriate Subsidiary.
