Proposal to Display Transfer Orders for Review Prior to Processing in the Auto-Receive Functionality

Proposal Summary

This proposal outlines the implementation of a feature that enhances the user experience when working with transfer orders. The proposed enhancement will allow for the display of transfer orders in a pop-up page and enable users to select specific transfer orders from the ones displayed in the that page.

Requirement

  • The system shall display transfer orders within the date range given in the Auto-Receive Transfer Orders record.
  • The system shall enable users to select specific transfer orders from among the ones displayed in the custom interface.

Deliverables

  • Currently, only one custom record setup is available in NetSuite for Auto-Receive Functionality. In future you will create each individual custom record entries for processing Transfer Orders to Item Receipts.
  • We will add two new fields, namely “status” and “processing file,” to the Auto-Receive Transfer Orders. The “processing file” field will contain the selected transfer order report. Initially, both fields will be disabled.
  • When opening Auto-Receive Transfer Orders in the create mode, the record will be saved after selecting the from date and to date. At this point, the status field will be set to “pending” and the processing file field will be empty.
  • We will display a button named “Display TOs” in view mode. Clicking this button will open a page in new tab by displaying the transfer orders resulting from a search based on the specified date range.
  • On the displayed page, include checkboxes to enable the selection of transfer orders. Additionally, provide two buttons labelled “Mark All” and “Unmark All” for conveniently selecting or deselecting all checkboxes. Manual selection of checkboxes should also be possible. One more button namely “SUBMIT” is also available here.
  • Upon clicking the SUBMIT button on that page, if any checkboxes are selected, a text file will be created containing the selected records.
  • We will store the text file in the “processing file” field within the Auto-Receive Transfer Order record. This file contains the details of selected transfer orders.
  • The script will process each Transfer Order from the text file individually and convert it into an Item Receipt.
  • Finally, we will update the status field of the Auto-Receive Transfer Order record to “completed” once all the transfer orders have been processed.

Assumptions and Limitations

  • An entry must be saved in the Auto-receive Transfer Order for the subsequent steps to be executed.
  • The Transfer Order page will display transfer orders only if the “Display TOs” button is clicked.
  • By default, all checkboxes on the Transfer Order page will be selected or checked.
  • If any custom record exists with completed status, we will not process it.

Estimated Effort

      35 Hour
