Converting Lead to Customer Without Creating a Transaction in NetSuite

Converting leads to customers is a pivotal aspect of any business’s growth strategy. While NetSuite is a powerful tool for managing customer data and transactions, there are ways to convert leads without immediately creating transactions.

The Lead Status field in the lead record allows for the modification of the lead status. Altering the status to either prospect or customer results in the record assuming the corresponding role. This status change does not affect associated opportunities, estimates, or sales transactions.

For prospect and customer records, adjusting the value in the Status field allows you to convert the record back to a lead or prospect. If a record with linked transactions is reverted to a lead, NetSuite preserves the transactions, although they won’t be visible on the Standard Lead Form.

To access transactions connected to a reverted lead, navigate to the Actions list and choose View All Transactions.

Upon changing a reverted lead record back to a prospect or customer, the transactions are displayed on the Sales subtab within the record.
