Product Comparison Extension Error on Web Store

When attempting to compare product features on the SCA web store, if certain facet fields are not selected on the web store setup, the error – Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘matrixtype’ of undefined, is  thrown in the console.

Solution

To resolve this, follow the set of instructions below:

1. Navigate to Commerce > Websites > Website Lists
2. Select the desired Website Record: Click Edit
3. Click Field Sets tab
4. Under the details field set, add the following:
   • itemoptions_detail
5. Click Submit
6. details field set:Click OK
   • Note: This is to ensure that the field was actually added to the field set
7. Website Record: Click Save
