The purpose behind the inclusion of drag and drop feature in NetSuite is to make it easier and faster for users to upload files to the file cabinet or to a record page. It also allows users to attach multiple files directly to editable sublists of supported records and custom records.
File Drag and Drop is only available on forms with a Files subtab. If the Files subtab is removed from a custom form, the drop zone will not be displayed.
Some of the practical applications of this feature are:
- We can attach files to a transaction, such as invoices, receipts, etc., by dragging and dropping them to the transaction record page or to the line items. This way, you can provide more details and evidence for the transaction and avoid manual data entry.
- We can upload files to the file cabinet, such as templates, reports, scripts, etc., by dragging and dropping them to the file cabinet folder. This way, you can organize and manage your files in the file cabinet and share them with other users.
We can drag and drop a file to the Drop file options in the record.
The uploaded files will be available in the folder Drag and Drop> Credit Card Receipts
The location for storing the files in the file cabinet can be updated based on our preference.
