Cannot print a Cash Refund Check as Bank Account is not showing up on the Account drop down list when printing checks from Transactions > Management > Print Checks and Forms > Checks.
USER 1: using Custom Accountant Role with Customer Refund Permission or any role with Customer Refund Permission
1. Navigate to Transactions > Sales > Create Invoices > List
2. On one Invoice with Status Paid in Full > Click Credit button
3. On the Credit Memo > Click Save
4. On the Credit Memo > Click on Refund button
5. On the Customer Refund > Account field > Select Account #1234 Checking
6. Set the To Be Printed = True
7. On the Refund method tab > Select Check
8. Click Save
9. Navigate to Transactions > Management > Print checks and Forms > Checks > on the Account field, select the Bank Account #1234 Checking
10. Mark the transaction and Click on Print button
USER 2: Using Standard Accountant Role with no Customer Refund Permission needs to re-print the check:
1. Navigate to List > Accounting > Accounts > Select Account #1234 Checking (Type: Bank)
2. On the Account #1234 Checking Register > Mark the “To Print” column checkbox beside the RFND (transaction type)
3. Navigate to Transactions > Management > Print checks and Forms > Checks > the Bank Account #1234 Checking is NOT showing up on the drop down
4. Go back to the Account #1234 Checking Register > The Date link of the transaction type= RFND cannot be clicked on to show the originating Customer refund Transaction
USER 1 using her Standard Accountant Role with no Customer Refund Permission needs to re-print the check:
1. Navigate to List > Accounting> Accounts > Select Account #1234 Checking (Type: Bank)
2. On the Account #1234 Checking Register > Mark To Print checkbox beside the RFND (transaction type)
3. Navigate to Transactions > Management > Print checks and Forms > Checks > the Bank Account #1234 Checking is not showing up on the drop down
4. Go back to the Account #1234 Checking Register > The Date link of the transaction type= RFND cannot be clicked on to show the originating Customer Refund Transaction
5. On the Credit Memo with Status Fully Applied > Go to the Items tab > Apply sub tab > Click on the Date link of the Customer Refund
6. Warning Message : Permission Violation: You need the ‘Transactions -> Customer Refund’ permission to access this page. Please contact your account administrator.
Solution
1. Using an Administrator role, navigate to Set up> User/Roles> Manage roles
2. Click Edit on Standard Accountant Role
3. On the Permission tab> Transaction subtab > add Customer Refund and set Access Level to Full
4. Click Save
Note: Although USER 1 can see the Refund transaction (To be Printed= True) on the Register, the user cannot access the actual transaction therefore he was not able to print a check for it using his role with no Customer Refund Permission.
