A Custom Field with View Access for a Role is not showing when the Saved Search is run for the Role.
Solution
Confirm the setup of the Custom Field and Add the Custom Field on the Saved Search using a Role with higher Permissions for the Custom Field.
- Confirm the setup of the Custom Field
- Navigate to Customization > List, Records & Fields > CRM Fields (or the type of field the user is not able to see)
- View Custom Field
- Click Access
- Role
- Role: Select Role
Note: Select the Role experiencing issues with this Custom Field.- Access Level: Select View
- Level for Search/Reporting: Select Edit
- Add Custom Field to Search using Administrator Role
- Login to NetSuite as Administrator
- Navigate to Reports > Saved Searches > All Saved Searches > New
- Click Results
- Click Columns
- Field:
- Select Custom Field
Note: Select the problematic Custom Field here.
- Select Custom Field
- Click Save
Note: After applying the workaround, when the Custom Role, views the results of the Search, it will show the Custom Field. However, if the Role clicks on Edit on the Search, the Custom Field will no longer be available in the Results. The administrator will have to follow the steps of the workaround once again to make that field available.
