Customer Statement Emails With Pdf Attachments

Scenario
The client needs to send Customer statements to customers in a batch as a PDF attachment and now the statement attachment is delivered to customer in HTML format.

Solution
To send statements as pdf attachments follow the below steps.
we can set the email preference individually to a customer or we can set it as a general function.

Set Email preference in the customer record
In the customer record under the preference tab, there is an option to decide whether the e-mail needs to be sent based on PDF, HTML, and default.

If it is selected as PDF, then whenever we send the statement to the customer it will be only in PDF.
If it is selected as PDF, then whenever we send the statement to the customer it will be in the HTML format and the mail send to the customer without the PDF Attachment
If it is selected as default, then it will be based on the user set preference.

Email Preference in the customer record is only applicable to the particular customer.

In the Set Preference also under the transactions tab, we will be able to decide whether the e-mail need to be sent based on in-line HTML or as PDF.
In the transaction Email Attachment Format field: we can select the HTML/PDF
If we select HTML, then all the emails sent by the user are delivered without the attachment and all the details of the mail are in the HTML format.
If we selectPDF, then all the emails are sent with PDF attachments.

In the case of bulk email for statements we need to modify all the customer records and change the preference default/HTML to PDF, or the user needs to change their set preference to PDF and then send out a bulk e-mail for statements.
If we change Set Preference to PDF then all the emails other than the customer statement are sent as PDF because this is a global function so it is applicable to all emails related to transaction and statements.
