Scenario: Renewal contracts are not created even after clicking “Renew Now” button or by execution of script R05: Renewals Nightly. They are encountering error “This transaction includes items that post to revenue and items that post to deferred revenue. You cannot include both types of items on the same transaction.”

Reasons for the error
- This error may cause if “Renew with” field is empty in the contract item.
2. This happens because some of the items on the transaction are posting to revenue while some are posting to deferred revenue.
To resolve the same,
- Open the items on the transaction in a new tab.
- Go to the Revenue Recognition/Amortization Tab.
- Check the Direct Revenue Posting checkbox. This should be enabled or disabled for all the items that you are using on the transaction. It should be the same for all the items.
- If using an Assembly Item, make sure that the components of the Assembly Item are also the same as the Assembly Item itself.
