Proposal for Closing Work Orders

Requirement

Blackstone is currently working on a project that involves closing work orders based on the outcome of a saved search. They have already generated a saved search that retrieves work orders with a built quantity that is greater than or equal to the requested quantity. Now, they need to determine if it is possible to automate the process of closing all the work orders identified by the saved search through a scheduled workflow or scripting. The saved search is as follows:

Work Order Close Saved Search: Results – NetSuite (Blackstone Industries, LLC)

Deliverables

  • We can develop a scheduled script to automatically close the work orders based on the result obtained from a saved search.
  • However, if any errors encounter during the closing process of a work order or if any work orders have dependency records, our script will refrain from closing those particular orders.
  • In such cases, using the details of these work orders, along with the reasons for not closing them, will create a CSV file.
  • Additionally, we will send you an email notification that includes the CSV file as an attachment.
  • We will hardcode the following search criteria in the script to get the work orders which satisfy the specified criteria. And then using the scheduled script we will and close them.

                 Status: In Progress
Built quantity that is greater than or equal to the requested quantity

Assumptions and Limitations

  • We will close the work orders as the saved search result that meets the current search criteria.
  • If any error occurs during the closing of a work order or if any work orders have any dependency records, then we will not close the orders and these data is stored as a CSV file and send as an email.
