This proposal covers the scope of the FedEx and USPS Integration for the East Electronics
Requirement
East Electronics is interested in streamlining their shipping operations by implementing a shipping integration that enables efficient tracking of shipments. Specifically, they have expressed a desire to explore the feasibility of integrating well-established shipping carriers like FedEx and USPS with their NetSuite system. At present, they are engaged in the manual entry of tracking numbers for their shipments, a process that they aim to automate for enhanced efficiency.
The primary objectives of this integration initiative are as follows:
- Automated Tracking: The team seeks to eliminate the manual task of inputting tracking numbers for each shipment. Instead, they aspire to have these tracking numbers seamlessly and automatically populated within their NetSuite environment upon shipment.
- Enhanced Visibility: By integrating with FedEx and USPS, STERI intends to provide enhanced visibility into the shipment tracking process. This includes real-time tracking updates, enabling them to monitor the progress and status of shipments accurately.
- Efficient Workflow: The automation of tracking number input is anticipated to significantly optimize their workflow, saving time and reducing the risk of errors associated with manual data entry.
- Carrier Integration: With a focus on major carriers like FedEx and USPS, the team aims to establish a cohesive connection between their NetSuite system and the carriers’ tracking systems, facilitating seamless data exchange.
Deliverables
- The NetSuite Standard Shipping Label Integration feature enables you to generate tracking numbers and shipping labels in your NetSuite account. After you register your FedEx or USPS account with NetSuite.
- We can create real-time rate shipping items so that the shipping charges on orders are always up to date.
- We can enable both the Multi-Location Inventory and Shipping Label Integration features to set up different USPS, and FedEx accounts for each location.
- When we enabled Shipping Label Integration, we can print barcode shipping labels and receive automatic tracking numbers.
- After fulfilling orders that have FedEx or USPS integrated shipping methods, and the tracking number is saved with the item fulfilment. We can then print a USPS bar code shipping label for your package from the item fulfilment.
Scope of Work
To integrate Fedex and USPS with Netsuite, we can use the NetSuite standard Shipping integration functionality.
- Enable feature for shipping label integration.
- FedEx®
- Adding a FedEx® account to NetSuite enables to offer FedEx real-time rates. We must have an active FedEx account to use FedEx real-time rates and integration.
- To use FedEx integration, create shipping items that are marked for integration.
- United States Postal Service (USPS) Services
- To use U.S. Postal Service® (USPS) shipping integration, set up a NetSuite-integrated account with our USPS provider, Endicia®.
- Register a USPS Account with NetSuite
- Creating Shipping Items with USPS Integration
- After fulfilling orders that have USPS integrated shipping methods, the USPS Endicia account is charged, and the tracking number is automatically saved with the item fulfilment.
