Proposal For Pallet notes and Fee

Proposal Summary

This proposal covers the scope of, implementing Pallet Notes and Fee  in the Thermoguard website domains.

Requirement

Implementing to charge customers for their pallets used. Anything over 10 cartons needs a pallet, and a pallet holds 32 cartons. So, for every 32 cartons of gel packs, it will be an additional $20.

So, if the quantity of the corresponding items is more than 10, then we need to charge $20 for the pallet. If the quantity is more than 32, then we need two cartons and so on.

This only applies to NZ and AU domains.

Our Solution

  • We can check the Primary unit type of the item. If the item is selected “Carton” as primary unit type, then we can consider that item for calculating pallet cost.
  • If you are not using this field, then we can create a custom checkbox field in the item record to mark that the item is using cartons. You may then need to mark all the items that are using cartons.
  • In checkout page, a charge of $20 will be added to the order if it includes more than 10 cartons. A pallet will include 32 cartons and if there are more than 32 cartons, then 2 pallets cost will be added and so on.
  • The carton quantity will be checked with all the items that added in the cart. Ie., if there are 2 different gel pack items with quantity 8 and 4, we will combine both quantities(12) and then add the pallet cost.
  • The Pallet Fee will be displayed in the “Summary” section of the website checkout page.
  • The Total in the “Summary” section including the Pallet fee.
  • This total will be saved in NetSuite.
  • The functionality will be implemented in NZ and AU domains.

Assumptions

  • We need to Check the items that are required Pallet fee in item record.
